You may also want to visit astm.org and
refer to the ASTM E 2112 Standard Practice for the "Installation
of Exterior Windows, Doors and Skylights" for additional
installation guidelines.
The installation instructions guidelines provided by ROW below
takes into consideration several factors.
- The construction is for a typical wood frame wall. If this
is not the case, the installation may require additional
materials and expanded instructions and methods.
- The structure on which the installation is being performed
has been properly managed for water and moisture drainage.
A complete vapor barrier needs to be applied to the
window opening and the ROW window(s) being installed must
be properly flashed.
- Building codes have minimum egress size requirements determined
by the window type,
application and area in which the dwelling resides. It is
the responsibility of the builder and/or installer to assure
these building code requirements are met.

Saf-T-Tilt / Double Hung
Open window 6" to 8" from bottom. Grasp top of lower
sash and pull lightly toward you. With other hand, depress
side spring balance channels, so the window sash jumps over
the track of the vinyl channel.
Holding Window Out of Track at One Side
Depress vinyl channel on opposite side in same manner.
To tilt upper window sash, repeat same as above. Do not tilt
sash beyond 90û.
In some cases, a sash may slowly creep when fully opened or
closed. Tilt sash, turn adjusting screws clockwise until creeping
stops.
CAUTION: In brick veneer walls, leave adequate clearance between
the bottom of the window sill and masonry for caulking and
dimensional change of structure framework.
